Singing in a concert

Concerts

Members who wish to sing in a concert should attend a majority of rehearsals, including all those in the church. We ask members planning to sing in the concert to sign the sheet provided confirming this as soon as possible at rehearsal. This allows us to plan seating in the Church in advance.

It is expected that all members who wish to sing in a concert should try and sell at least 2 concert tickets.

Concert Dress

Ladies – All black, long black dress or black top with three  quarter length or long sleeves. Or long black skirt or trousers. Black shoes. Red flower corsage pinned to left shoulder. Corsages can be purchased from a Committee member price £5.

Gentlemen – Black shirt and red bow tie. Bow ties can be purchased from a Committee member price £5.

Music and folders

Members singing in the concerts must ensure they have a Seaford Choral Society folder for their music. These can be purchased from the Treasurer or Secretary in advance – cost £6.

The Society is charged if music is lost or returned in a marked or damaged state.  If you leave before the end of term or cannot attend the party your music must be returned to the Librarian.

Food, drinks, bags and valuables

The Choral Society is proud of its performances and keen to present a professional appearance that reflects the standard of singing.

Please do not bring any bags, including hand bags, nor water bottles into the Concert if you are singing.

Any drinks or food should be consumed during the interval and not during the performances. If you have to bring any belongings with you, these must be left in the vestry throughout the concert. Please do not bring drinks other than water to the front of the church during rehearsals as any spillages can damage the floor.

You are advised to avoid bringing any valuable items. Neither the Choral Society nor the Church can take any responsibility for your belongings while you are at rehearsals or in the Church.
