We have made some good progress over the last couple of rehearsals, which is great. Now, we need to get to the point where you can look up from your copies, so that we can sing as a whole group. Many thanks everyone.

Chamber Choir
Anerio: Christus Factus: revise all
Gjeilo: Ubi Caritas: secure joins between sections-sing repeated notes on a continuous breath.
Ireland: Greater Love: neaten all phrase endings/stray consonants. This piece needs much more dynamic colour and projection. Highlight details in your part to draw attention.
Lotti: Crucifixus: reinforce individual confidence on each part. This piece requires everyone to look up, breath together, so that we can phrase as a group.
Full Choir
Clare Daly, the soloist for the Mendelssohn and the Haydn will be joining us at the beginning of the rehearsal.
Mendelssohn: HMP: we'll be running this, so that we get used to another singer on the solo part. Focus on any individual grey spots.- Haydn: Benedictus: top and tail + Sanctus. - Credo: a more confident start with tidy rhythm
- Balfour Gardiner: : Evening Hymn: neaten the Amen. Pg 9 bars 93 and 95 n on 4th beat then a breath. Revise chord pick-up at b43.
- Elgar: GUTL: be aware of all speed changes (you really need to be looking up at these points). P29-33-all "the voice of the Lord" sections.
- Purcell: HMP: revise individual lines for greater confidence. Dynamic range needs to be expanded.
