Review of Spring Concert 2018

Review of Spring Concert   24 March 2018

This spring concert was the first held under the leadership of Colin Hughes and what a magnificent debut it proved to be! Members of the choir were lifted to a level of performance not previously experienced. Audience members were visibly moved and enjoyed a wonderful, overwhelming evening. The organ playing of accompanist John Eady held people in awe and the singing of all three soloists was inspiring.

Mendelssohn’s Hymn of Praise is a challenging work but the choir responded brilliantly to the challenge, singing with energy and confidence, with excellent ranges of dynamism and expression.

The success of Seaford Choral Society depends on a lot of hard, but enjoyable work by all concerned with the choir. However we are also reliant on the support of the people of Seaford – all who have helped in any way through sponsorship, displaying of posters, selling of tickets, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks.

A new challenge now faces Seaford Choral Society as we embark on the summer concert. This is to be held on Saturday 23 June at Seaford Baptist Church. The challenge lies in the form of a different from earlier concerts plus the efforts needed to maintain or even surpass the experience of the last concert!
