Nick Milner-Gulland

Nick Milner-Gulland

It is with great sadness that we hear of the death of Nick Milner-Gulland yesterday, Sunday 26th November 2017. He died peaceful in hospital in Brighton, following a short illness.

Nick was until very recently our highly respected rehearsal accompanist and also regularly accompanied the choir on the St Leonard’s Church organ at their concerts.

Nick  studied piano with Arnold Foster and organ with Sir David Willcocks while he was at Cambridge reading classics. After teaching at Marlborough College, he was headmaster of Cumnor House School from 1969 to 2000, where he was responsible for music, drama, handwriting and classics.

He conducted the Fayrfax Singers for over 30 years, performing much of the choral repertoire. In January 2001 he was appointed conductor of the Fletching Singers, and when not conducting, he led a busy life as organist and choirmaster of Ringmer Parish Church, and player of the piano, organ and hardsichord.

The Chairman, Committee and members of Seaford Choral Society would like to extend their heartfelt deepest condolences to Anna, his wife and his family at this saddest of times.
