    Description: Dear all
We are very nearly there. You have made excellent progress this term covering a large amount of repertoire. It's good to see you really getting into the pieces now. Now's the time just to go over those tricky corners, so that you can sing with full confidence in the concert. Many thanks everyone.

Lotti: Crucifixus: please mark in the following phrase endings-bar 17-18 s of nobis on first beat of bar 18. Bar 32 ending of "est" within the first beat, clean and tight start on "pas-"on second beat. Bar 37 -s on final quaver beat, clean and tight start on "et" for bar 38.
Ireland: GLHNM: solo lines pg6-7 need some revision. pg 11 basses, to pick up your F# in b122, follow the tenor line before your entry- your "that ye" is the same as the tenor "of God" 2 beats before. Your F# is also in the accompaniment first beat of bar 122. Bar 126 2_ce" on 4th beat. Bar 133 d of "God" on first beat of b134. Final "-ce" of "service" on first beat b138.
Gjeilo: Ubi Caritas: aim for more emphasis on leading consonants eg Ubi Caritas at amor....etc.

Here are the tracks for the Elgar and Monteverdi for a bit of revision.

    Elgar: Give unto the Lord

    Monteverdi: Beatus Vir

    • Balfour Gardiner: Te lucis: run and revise. Neaten the final Amens.
    • Monteverdi: Beatus Vir: pages 217-232 still require some revision. If you have time to look at this section, it would be beneficial. (As I type this, I can hear this piece on BBC Radio 3 in Choral Evensong-they are taking it quite fast. Programme repeated 3pm Sunday and available on BBC Sounds!).
    • Purcell: HMP: run and revise-check individual parts, especially picking up starting notes.
    • Haydn Mass: Run and revise whole mass. Practise joins between movements-this shouldn't be too difficult as all the movements begin and end in the same key.
    • Elgar:GUTL: Run from start and revise as required. Picking up starting notes in new phrases presents some challenges in this piece. Check from where you are finding your notes. The constant changing of speed in the piece is also a challenge. Make sure you are looking up for each new tempo, as it changes and then settles. It goes wrong when heads are down.
