SUMMER CONCERT REVIEW 2023

SUMMER ‘CONCERT FOR A QUEEN’

JULY 2023

An evening of musical celebration of the near 100-year life of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was the theme of our summer concert this year with music from the late Queen’s wedding, coronation and jubilees. Also her favourite musicals, songs and hymns from all corners of the UK. A wonderful medley of songs and tunes old and new. We were joined by yet again our friends from Seaford Primary School, the Semiquavers under the guidance of Kate Steer, who again stole the show.

Also appearing and playing was our special guest, The Seaford Bagpiper, who delighted the audience as he walked into the hall to help celebrate the Queen’s love of Scotland.

Playing to a full house, we put on quite a show between us, tons of fun, fearless singing and all hugely entertaining. Our heartfelt thanks to all who came along, our new accompanist for the evening, Helen Ridout, and all who helped out on the night. A resounding success!

Sadly, it was also Colin Hughes, our MD’s final concert with the choir. He was presented with an engraved tankard and a cheque by Steve Machan, and we wish him all the very best in his future musical career.
